A Day Like Any Other
The sun peeked through the dusty blinds of Jasper's tiny apartment, painting stripes of golden light across his rumpled bedsheets. He groaned, fumbling for his phone to silence the insistent alarm. Another day, another shift at The Cosmic Bean, the quirkiest coffee shop this side of reality. As he stumbled out of bed, Jasper couldn't shake the feeling that today was going to be... well, exactly like yesterday, and the day before that, and the day before that.
He shuffled through his morning routine with the precision of a well-oiled machine, albeit a slightly sleepy one. Shower, teeth, clothes, coffee (because even baristas need their fix before facing the caffeine-deprived masses). As he locked his door and stepped out into the crisp morning air, Jasper allowed himself a moment of whimsy. What if today wasn't like any other day? What if, just maybe, the universe had something extraordinary in store for him?
