The Untapped Potential of the Trucking Industry
By 2015, major corporations such as Amazon, Walmart, Sam's Club, Costco Wholesale, and Target had significantly increased their use of white-label products. These products, manufactured by one company and rebranded by another, allowed these companies to expand their product lines and enter new markets without the need for substantial investments in production or research and development. This shift negatively impacted my sales at DWI Communications and heightened competition, compounded by increased federal restrictions and guidelines on tax preparation firms, which further reduced revenue. Consequently, I was once again compelled to research and seek new opportunities.
My tax firm had several clients who either worked for trucking companies as drivers or were owner operators of their own trucks and they were earning near and well into six figures. A few of the owner operators were grossing seven figures or near seven figure yearly revenue. After a couple of months of research I made the decision to sale my tax firm, scaled down DWI Communications Inc. enrolled in truck driving school and earned my cdl. Was hired by one the highest paying trucking companies in the country, "Covenant Transport" now Covenant Logistics Group, Inc. Worked with that company for a year before buying my own truck becoming an owner operator and during that year I completed pickups and deliveries to all 48 contiguous states, also known as the "lower 48," are the 48 US states that are physically connected to each other, excluding Alaska and Hawaii; at least 5 times.
