Jabe Otwell, a native of Anahuac, Texas, was born with a stubborn streak and a knack for finding himself in the thick of things. Graduating in 2003, he took the long road to discipline and adventure by joining the U.S. Navy, where he served as a Gas Turbine Mechanic. After his time in the military, he found his way into the oil and gas industry, where he’s been wrangling chaos and keeping things running ever since. A Freemason and proud Texan, Jabe spends his time contemplating the mysteries of the universe, though whether he’s found any answers remains up for debate. He enjoys good whiskey, bad movies, and the occasional deep dive into conspiracy theories—purely for research purposes, of course. When he’s not working or writing, he can usually be found trying to convince people that the best barbecue is made with patience, not shortcuts. This is his first (and possibly last) novel, unless the world truly does end—then he reserves the right to say, “Told you so.”
