Synopsis

This first chapter of The Obsidian Labyrinth felt a bit slow to get going. The atmosphere of Veridia was nicely established, but the pacing lagged a little. Detective Rossi’s character has potential, but her intuition felt a bit too convenient at times. The mystery of Thorne’s death is intriguing, but the clues felt a bit too easily deciphered. I'm not entirely sure if I need to upgrade for the full story just yet. The concept is interesting, but I wish the execution was a bit sharper.
