Write a YA science-fantasy novel titled **ORBS: The Awakening**, aimed at ages 12–17, around 80,000–95,000 words. Mix science fantasy, mystery, action, school drama, friendship, leadership, comedy and slow-burn romance. CORE STORY: Long ago, three celestial brothers—Michael, Gabriel and Lucian—created 15 ancient Orbs, each containing a fundamental power. The Orbs can choose their wielders. Twelve remained pure; three became corrupted. The corrupted Orbs were originally good but were twisted by an unknown event. Their true history must be revealed gradually. THE SCHOOL: The story begins in a prestigious secondary school before the supernatural events. The school values academics, sports, leadership and service. Three students are expected to dominate Speech Night: George — brilliant valedictorian-level student, analytical, helpful and expected Head Boy. Diana — the “golden girl,” brilliant speaker, compassionate philanthropist, involved in everything and expected Head Girl. Jason — intelligent, athletic, charismatic and disciplined, expected Vice Head Boy. One day before Speech Night, all three mysteriously disappear. The school must redo the leadership selection. Zion becomes Head Boy, Amara Head Girl and Tyler Vice Head Boy. A different boy becomes Senior Prefect, while two different girls become Vice Head Girl and Senior Girl Prefect. Later, the heroes discover that George, Diana and Jason became the three corrupted Orb wielders. They were NOT evil originally. Their corruption is tragic, and traces of their former personalities remain. THE 12 PURE ORBS: Zion — Time: calm, intelligent, confident, protective leader. Tyler's best friend. Fears losing people. Tyler — Water: funny, energetic, loyal, charismatic. Zion's closest friend. Blake — Lightning: competitive, bold, stubborn; often challenges Zion. Logan — Fire: chaotic, fearless, impulsive, funny, but kind-hearted. Elliot — Earth: quiet, dependable, strong and protective. Adrian — Gravity: analytical, observant and strategic. Amara — Light: warm, intelligent, empathetic and confident. Important protagonist, NOT merely a love interest. Scarlett — Wind: independent, adventurous and quick-thinking. Noah — Ice: friendly, optimistic and adaptable. Mason — Metal: serious, disciplined and protective. Chloe — Illusion: clever, sarcastic, observant and skeptical. Avery — Energy: quiet, creative and initially underestimated. The powers must have limits, costs and progression. Nobody starts overpowered. Zion's Time Orb develops gradually; time travel, if possible, must have major consequences. ZION + AMARA: Their relationship is a slow burn. They begin as friends, grow close through shared experiences, develop trust and eventually romantic feelings. Do not rush the romance. Amara has her own goals and character arc. THE CORRUPTED THREE: George becomes the intellectual/strategic villain. Diana becomes a charismatic villain whose desire to help people becomes twisted into believing she should control what is best for humanity. Jason becomes the physically aggressive villain whose competitive nature becomes obsession. Their corrupted Orbs should have Greek-inspired names and destructive concepts such as darkness/absence, entropy/decay and ruin/destruction. Do NOT simply copy Greek mythology. Their corruption should be mysterious and gradually explained. ORB SUITS: The twelve eventually gain futuristic Orb suits created through their bond with their Orbs. Each has a shared base design plus unique symbols, colors and features reflecting their power and personality. Suits evolve from unstable early forms into stronger synchronized forms. Avoid generic superhero costumes. CELESTIAL LORE: Michael and Gabriel understand the Orbs and their history but reveal information gradually. Lucian is connected to the corruption. The brothers once had a genuine bond, so their conflict should feel tragic rather than simplistic. TONE & WRITING: Write as a polished YA novel, not a screenplay or summary. Start with normal school life and establish the characters before the supernatural events. Use natural teenage dialogue, humor, emotional depth, cinematic action and strong mystery. Avoid exposition dumps, generic superhero dialogue and instant power mastery. Major themes: leadership, responsibility, friendship, identity, choice, perfectionism, power, sacrifice and whether fallen people can be saved. Central message: **Being chosen doesn't make someone worthy of power. The choices they make after receiving it do.** The story should gradually reveal why the Orbs chose these twelve, what corrupted the three, who the celestial brothers truly are, and whether George, Diana and Jason can be saved. Begin with Chapter One. Do not give an outline first. Write the actual novel.
