Sleep Cycle: The Last Human In the near future, humanity has become the victim of the artificial world it created. Years of synthetic nutrition, excessive medication, technological dependence, and an obsession with perfect efficiency have weakened the human body beyond repair. Natural living has nearly disappeared, and the only thing capable of keeping the human body alive is sleep. Society is now governed by the “Sleep Cycle System,” a perfectly engineered structure designed to preserve human life. People are allowed to remain awake for only 6 hours a day, while the remaining 18 hours must be spent inside regenerative sleep capsules. The world is divided into four time groups, allowing civilization to function continuously without ever fully stopping. But the cost of this balance is devastating: people live in the same cities while existing in different timelines, families grow distant, and genuine human connection slowly disappears. Those who break the rules face the “Wake Punishment.” Instead of physical torture, the punishment accelerates biological decay itself — the body rapidly ages, weakens, and collapses in unbearable suffering. Everything appears to function in perfect balance. Even newborn children are assigned to a cycle group by the system itself in order to maintain equilibrium. No one questions the order… until one man discovers an unexplainable flaw hidden deep within the system. “Sleep Cycle: The Last Human” is an atmospheric dystopian sci-fi story that explores the value of time, the meaning of being human, and the cost of sacrificing freedom for survival. Blending psychological tension with social dystopia, the story portrays a civilization slowly destroying its humanity in the name of perfect balance.
