Synopsis

In a future where humanity's survival hinges on a desperate deep-space colonization effort, high school senior Matra Ellis is recruited for a mission shrouded in secrecy. Offered a life-altering deal to secure her family's future, she signs on, only to discover she's part of a covert plan: to become a 'Mother of the New Age.' Unbeknownst to her and the other female recruits, they are implanted with embryos and destined to give birth to the next generation of humanity during the long voyage, their true purpose hidden behind a veil of misinformation. Matra's hopeful farewell diary entry before cryo-sleep marks the beginning of a journey she cannot comprehend. Sixteen years later, a generation of children, raised in isolation by the ship's AI and robots, knows only the sterile confines of the Mothership and a fabricated history. They are told their mothers were heroic pioneers who sacrificed themselves. But as they uncover hidden data logs and their mothers' own video diaries, the truth is revealed: their mothers died, their bodies recycled to sustain the ship. Faced with this shattering reality and the knowledge of previous failed missions, these children must rely on their ingenuity, their bond, and the ship's archives to ensure their colony's success as they finally approach their new home, forever changed and wary of the humanity they left behind.
