Synopsis

Prologue: The Shattered Sky They called it the Fifth Sundering. An era lost to time, carved into the bones of mountains and whispered in the trembling hymns of the dying. The sky cracked like glass. Oceans rose, swallowing cities whole. Fire rained from the clouds, and beneath the earth, something ancient stirred. It wasn’t war. It wasn’t divine punishment. It was a collision—between this world and the ones beyond the veil. Tears in reality split open, and from them poured horrors and wonders: creatures of impossible anatomy, primal beasts of ancient intelligence, and energies that warped the laws of nature itself. Humanity stood no chance. Within a century, they were nearly extinct. But then... some humans changed. A desperate few discovered they could harness the essence of these beasts. Not just their flesh, but their soul. That soul, once bound, formed a "Glyph"—an ethereal mark of power carved into the cultivator's soul. Absorbing a beast's soul allowed the bearer to inherit a fragment of its strength, but the process was perilous. Only those with rigorous physical conditioning—masters of body cultivation and martial discipline—could survive the forging of a glyph. Thus rose a new path. Beast slayers. Glyphbinders. Soulforgers. Civilization clawed its way back through blood and ash. But it was not united. The world fractured into castes: the rich and powerful, living in walled utopias high in the Skydwell cities or the Bastion Spires, hoarding the ancient medicines and cultivating in luxury. And the rest—the forgotten masses—dwelling in the Decaylands, ash-choked forests, and crumbling ruins. To them, survival was a daily war. Only the strong mattered. Glyphs were currency, and blood was the price.
