Synopsis

Beneath the soil of an ordinary world lies Cartolith Colony, a civilization of ants governed by ritual, memory, and the slow certainty of stone. For generations, they have endured tremors and shadows from above—distant forces too vast to name, preserved only in myth and warning. When Varin, a restless ant driven by curiosity, discovers a strange metal object etched with an impossible symbol, his world fractures. The device hums with meanings no ant mind was built to hold. For a fleeting moment, Varin glimpses something infinite—then loses it. What remains is obsession. As Varin descends into madness, scratching spirals into the walls and chasing echoes of lost knowledge, his companion Stylix watches helplessly. The colony begins to panic. Elders whisper of ancient calamities. The hum grows stronger. And somewhere above, something has noticed the signal. Told entirely from the perspective of ants, Eldritch Human reimagines cosmic horror through the smallest of eyes. It is a story of scale, curiosity, and the terrible truth that what one mind calls progress, another may only experience as annihilation.
