Synopsis

Charly and Liv are two sisters growing up in a bright apartment in Zurich’s Seefeld district, with their caring mother Valerie and their cheerful Danish father Carl-Gustav. When Uncle Lex gives Charly two budgies — a blue one named Stitch and a white one named Rank — the family quickly falls in love with their new feathered friends. One quiet night, Charly wakes to the sound of whispering and discovers that the birds can talk. Together with her sister Liv, she learns that Stitch and Rank come from a magical land called Wakatuku, a place where rivers once flowed with cola, candy grew on trees, and houses were made of cake. But now, Wakatuku is under the dark spell of the Angry Owl, who hates sweetness and has turned everything bitter — the rivers to coffee, the candy to stinky cheese, and the rain to falling potatoes. To save their friends’ homeland, Charly and Liv fly with the budgies to Wakatuku, embarking on a series of enchanting adventures: solving riddles in the Bitter Forest, freeing the Candy Cloud Giants, calming the River of Coffee, and finally facing the Angry Owl atop Stinky Cheese Mountain. With help from the kind fairy Coco, and the power of laughter, dance, and song, the sisters restore sweetness and joy to the land. Back home in Zurich, life feels just a little more magical — and sometimes, when Charly and Liv sing and dance together, Stitch and Rank whisper stories from the sky. Characters Charly – The older sister, gentle and imaginative, with long brown hair and kind brown eyes. She’s tall and graceful, always moving as if she’s dancing to music only she can hear. Charly finds beauty in small things and often dreams of faraway places. Liv – The younger sister, brave and curious, with the same deep brown eyes but wilder hair and a laugh that fills the room. She’s smaller and sturdier than Charly, full of energy and mischief. Liv loves to sing — sometimes softly, sometimes so loud the birds join in. Stitch – A blue budgie with feathers that shimmer like the lake on a sunny day. Playful, loyal, and endlessly talkative, Stitch is the heart of every adventure. Rank – A white budgie as calm as snow. Wise and patient, Rank always knows the right thing to say when everyone else is panicking. Valerie – The girls’ Swiss mother, gentle and practical, with a warm smile and a soft voice. She keeps the family together with quiet love — and always remembers to feed the birds. Carl-Gustav – Their Danish father, cheerful and slightly eccentric. He loves storytelling, making jokes in Danish, and talking to the budgies as if they were old friends. Uncle Lex – Valerie’s brother, mysterious and kind-hearted. He brings the budgies as a gift and seems to know more about magic than he admits. The Angry Owl – A large, gloomy owl with glowing yellow eyes.
