Synopsis

Twenty years ago, the seemingly idyllic town of Alder Creek held a terrible secret. Now, Mark Hayes, a man haunted by his own turbulent past and a history of addiction, returns to the town he fled. Sober but scarred, he seeks a fresh start as a teacher at the local high school, only to find himself face-to-face with his estranged brother, Police Chief Joe Hayes, and his nephew, Liam. Unbeknownst to them, Mark's return stirs dormant echoes of a tragedy that fractured the town, a tragedy involving a group of teenagers and a darkness lurking in the shadows of Alder Creek. As Mark navigates the fractured relationships and the oppressive silence of his hometown, Liam and his friends, Rick and Emma, begin to stumble upon unsettling clues that hint at a buried truth. Meanwhile, the past weighs heavily on other residents, like Emma's mother, Maria, who carries a long-suppressed memory of a terrifying event.
