Ambachew Mekonnen Ali is a social psychologist, migration practitioner, and independent researcher with extensive professional and academic experience in migration governance, nationality identification, and psychosocial assessment. He holds a Master of Arts in Social Psychology from Addis Ababa University, where he specialized in research methodology, psychometrics, and applied social psychology. His role requires continuous engagement with European asylum systems, international consular forums, and migrant communities, providing him with direct, practice-based insight into asylum procedures and identity verification mechanisms. Previously, Mr. Ali held senior leadership roles at Ethiopia’s Immigration and Citizenship Services (ICS), including Chief of Staff and Director of Human Resource Development and Administration. In these positions, he led institutional reform initiatives, policy implementation processes, and workforce development programs across national-level migration and citizenship structures. In addition to his policy career, he has served as a Lecturer and Researcher in Psychology at Dilla University and as a senior psychometric assessment, where he led national-level talent identification and psychological screening programs.
