Biography

Metsatedem Benga Russel, better known by his artist/stage name, Russel The Poet, is a talented Creative Writer, Published Author, Spoken Word Poet, Storyteller, and Actor, hailing from the South West Region of Cameroon. With a passion for using words, writing, acting, and performing to raise awareness and effect positive change, Russel pursued an undergraduate program in Performing And Visual Arts at the University of Buea, where he graduated with a BA in Performing Arts In mid-2020, Russel published his debut book titled "Our Society Today," which ignited his love for Spoken Word Poetry and Storytelling. Through his captivating performances, he sheds light on societal issues and challenges faced by him and his community, other communities, and people around the world.
